| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description As the title of this book implies, you should read this book if you want to expand your knowledge about developing solutions for both Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. A few sections only apply to MOSS 2007, but those have been clearly identified. Since the beta release of MOSS 2007, we have been working non-stop with this product and found that almost every SharePoint developer shares a common interest in at least four topics: Windows Workflow Foundation, Business Intelligence, InfoPath, and developing Ajax-enabled web parts. We fondly refer to these topics as the Big Four. We expect that in the near future, every SharePoint developer needs to have a good working knowledge about applying these technologies in a SharePoint context and it should come as no surprise that this book dedicates a considerable part to the discussion of the Big Four. We have made sure to include many other current technologies and discuss how to apply them in a SharePoint context. Please make sure to check the table of contents for details, but topics include the ins and outs of building web parts, Visual Studio 2005 Extensions for WSS, enhancing web part development using the Guidance Automation Toolkit, the newly added support for SharePoint in SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2.0, working with Forms Services 2007, and the BizTalk WSS adapter. Other topics include the building of a Domain-Specific Language for connectable web parts, learning how to reuse presentation layers via Web Services for Remote Portlets, a discussion of available impersonation techniques, and a thorough discussion of SQL Full-Text extensions. We are glad you are interested in this book and are convinced that you will find good value in it. Enjoy the read!
