From the supplier: The intranet has become a popular communication tool for most corporate organizations. As a result of its widespread application, the generation, processing and dissemination of intracompany information are undergoing major changes. An intranet can be used to distribute both static and dynamic organizational information. Static information, which are revised periodically, include telephone directories, internal job openings and company news releases while dynamic information, updated continuously, cover sales and inventory transactions, and expense account transactions. It has been used for such applications as production and manufacturing, human resources, management, marketing, and accounting and finance. However, it is not for everyone. It has certain advantages but it also has disadvantages that may make it unsuitable for some organizations.
