Polar Policy and Solutions to Polar Issues
The Antarctic Treaty has successfully protected the Antarctic as a continent for science and peace. However, there are still pertinent issues surrounding the future of the Polar Regions: the commercial exploitation of Antarctic resources in the form of fisheries, bioprospecting, tourism and potentially the extraction of mineral resources; climate change; the environmental impact of human activities; introduced species, and more. What solutions can we find to these problems and how will they be implemented? Find out more here!
Secondary school students participating in the Polar Contests will be contributing resources to this site, which will become available in October 2007.
